The history of IFC.D

Founded in 2011, the Institut de Formation Carbone & Durabilité has established itself as the go-to training provider for the Bilan Carbone® method.

A founding conviction: the ecological transition depends on organizations building their skills.

Founded by experts passionate about the Bilan Carbone® method and sustainability, our institute has supported companies and organizations for over 15 years in understanding and addressing climate issues.

Our close relationship with clients allows us to identify emerging issues. We respond to these needs thanks to our trainers' expertise in low-carbon strategies and our mastery of instructional design.

IFC was founded to deliver Bilan Carbone® training.

The institute changes its name and broadens its sustainability training offer with the support of its long-standing trainers.

A new identity!

The IFC.D logo is built around one symbol: the exclamation mark. Commitment, momentum, the move from measurement to action.

For us, dotting the i's means owning who we are: fifteen years of training in the Bilan Carbone® method, practitioner trainers, and expertise no one can improvise.

Why the “D”?

Sustainability. The natural extension of what IFC has always done: making complex issues accessible, concrete, and operational.

The “D” symbolizes a broader catalog, focused on:

  • carbon in all its dimensions,
  • decarbonization (low-carbon strategies and reduction levers),
  • adaptation and resilience,
  • more broadly, the environmental issues intertwined with organizational transformation and the bridges to CSR and sustainability…

How does IFC.D anchor itself in the future?

IFC.D is not arriving “on the market” of sustainability training as a newcomer. It comes with the legacy of the Bilan Carbone® method: a network of expert trainers from the field, and thousands of real-world cases behind them.

Today, no other training organization can claim this level of experience and references. This accumulated practice gives meaning and solidity to the expansion of our training catalog.
